Jason and Amy Hawkins* watched helplessly as the pediatric hospital staff started the feeding tube. Their 16-year-old daughter Alyssa had cystic fibrosis and standard hospital protocol did not meet her dietary needs. But the hospital would not listen.

“How much are you feeding her?” Amy demanded.

“4,000 calories” was the reply.

“But that’s twice what she normally eats!”

Alyssa’s intestines began to shut down.

Jason turned to his wife, “We need to get her to a different hospital.”

They tried, but it didn’t go like they planned.

This actually raises some interesting questions. Will Minnesota's tourism be affected by these laws? Will families be separated because they don't feel safe visiting relatives here? Will we see more organizations issuing travel advisories? Buka / Bagaimana

2023-05-12 20:12:50 This bill was added to the senate public safety omnibus overnight and was just posted.

Let’s be thoughtful and respectful in our communications on this. It does not legalize pedophilia or make it a protected class. That is still very illegal. Attacks framed like that distract from the real issue. It lets them focus on us for misrepresenting it instead of why they won’t include the amendment.

Supporters state that definitions don’t outline what a word is- in this case the word is orientation.

The concern is it unnecessarily removes a barrier for those who may try to redefine orientation again later and make it include attraction to minors.

Our ask is that the amendment unanimously passed in the house should be upheld by the senate.

2023-05-02 03:52:43 The Biden administration will end Covid vaccine mandates for federal employees, contractors and international air travelers on May 11.

The Health and Human Services Department will also phase out vaccine requirements for health-care facilities that participate in Medicare and Medicaid.

The Department of Homeland Security will end a vaccine requirement for people crossing into the U.S. via its land borders.
