Chee Song Foods Pte Ltd, a licensed meat importer, was fined $35,000 by the Court today for failure to arrange for inspection, examination, and certification by SFA, as well as for selling a consignment of frozen chicken products prior to inspection.
In Singapore, upon import of meat products, importers must arrange for these products to be inspected, examined and certified by an authorised examiner before it is sold, distributed or exported. Meat products which are found to be unfit for human consumption will be seized and disposed.
