Перемагайте! Засновуйте мир, що буде плодом нашої спільної перемоги та який ми з вами залишимо нашим дітям й онукам як головну спадщину Європи!

І якщо в когось іще залишилися сумніви щодо того, чи підтримувати український народ, будь ласка, тут, в Аахені, чи в будь-якому іншому місті нашої прекрасної вільної Європи вийдіть на вулицю, погляньте навколо себе, відчуйте те головне, чого ми прагнемо, те, що дають нам усім мир і повага в Європі. Відчуйте свободу, яка тут просто є. А ми заради неї воюємо. І переможемо.

It is now being decided how this war will end and whether this is really the last aggression in Europe. Everything depends on our unity, on our speed, on our determination to win.

I am honored today to receive the International Charlemagne Prize for the Ukrainian people. So my main appeal to you today is to be worthy of Charlemagne's character! Win! Establish the peace that will be the fruit of our common victory and that we will leave to our children and grandchildren as the main heritage of Europe!

And if anyone still has doubts about whether to support the Ukrainian people... Please, here in Aachen or in any other city of our beautiful free Europe, go outside, look around you, feel the key thing we strive for, the thing that is given to us all by peace and respect in Europe... I visited the military base in Aachen, where Ukrainian servicemen are undergoing training.

Together with Federal Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz, we talked to Ukrainian warriors. I also presented the soldiers with state awards. 

Thank you guys for representing our country. We are waiting for you at home, come back and make our army even more powerful on the battlefield. Buka / Bagaimana

Ukraine ranks fourth in the world in terms of the number of people awarded the title of Righteous Among the Nations. More than 2600 Ukrainians have received this title, which the State of Israel has been awarding since 1953 to those who saved Jews from extermination in Nazi-occupied Europe.

Despite all the possible consequences, thousands of Ukrainians saved Jews from extermination by the Nazis in extremely difficult conditions. They made them members of their families, searched for new documents, provided temporary shelter, food, and helped them escape persecution. This proves that we are truly people with European values, we have human compassion.

After World War II, the ussr hushed up the Holocaust, so it was difficult to publicise the stories of Jewish rescue.

More than 3,000 Ukrainian women with children have received temporary shelter in Reykjavík.

The City Hall is providing humanitarian assistance to Kyiv and Lviv, in particular, in establishing cooperation in the manufacture of prostheses at one of the best specialised private enterprises, Ossur.
