MANHUNT — Police have launched a manhunt for a Boston based fugitive, Kevin Kang'ethe, who killed a woman and left her body in a car in Boston, before he boarded a flight to Kenya on Tuesday.

The body of Margaret Mbitu, 31, was discovered about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in a parking garage at Logan International Airport in Boston, the Massachusetts State Police said in a news release. Mbitu, of Whitman, had been reported missing by her family on Monday.

Investigators identified the suspect as Kevin Kangethe of Lowell and have obtained a warrant for his arrest, according to the news release. Kangethe, 40, and Mbitu knew each other, police said, adding that there is no threat to the public or airport visitors.

2023-11-02 16:34:27 KIDNAPPED STUDENTS RESCUED, SUSPECTS ARRESTED IN KITENGELA.

Two tertiary level students who went missing on October 27, 2023 after being lured to their kidnappers' den by a female suspect have been rescued days after being locked up at an AirBnB at Elgon View apartments in Kitengela, Machakos County.

Two male suspects who held them hostage while demanding for Sh6 million ransom from their parents have also been arrested in the operation led by DCI's Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau detectives.

The suspects, Brian Ombasa Omoso, 25 and Humphrey Hinga, 22 who have since been ushered into our cells are believed to have been working jointly with the female dangerous damsel on the loose to identify and lure targeted victims, in their no-sweat approach to soft life.

In the classic case of 'all that glitters is not gold' reported at Kiambu Police Station on Oct 29, the lady who identified herself to the victims as Debbie Zablon separately lured the duo for a meet-up at a common venue in Nairobi, and just like the biblical Samson in Delilah's arms, surrendered the 21-year-olds to her accomplices.

Taking up the matter, the crime researchers reasoned with the distressed parents while subjecting all possible leads to forensic analysis. In their findings, it emerged that the female accomplice had used a stolen ID card to register the line which she used to communicate with the male students. Indeed, the legitimate owner of the ID card had earlier reported its loss at Lang'ata Police Station, a move that exonerated her from the suspects' mix.

Relentless search for the victims finally paid off when the terrified hunger-stricken duo was reunited with their kin, but not without a lesson of the existence of masquerades who will do anything for money.

An imitation of a pistol, a dagger, subscriber sim cards used to contact the parents, fake front and rear car registration plates (KDD 881M) believed to have been used during their transportation and assorted tools were also recovered from the hostage room.

Detectives had a challenging moment leading the suspects to the waiting police car, as curious locals thronged the scene for a view and a share of a pound of flesh from the suspects.

Meanwhile, manhunt for the female miscreant who tucked away is underway.

"Four suspects have been apprehended by detectives in connection with the kidnapping and robbery of a foreign couple who were lured to Nairobi for a fake gold deal.

The suspects, Jack Ouma Okwiri, Nashon Otieno Angudha, Felix Ochieng' Nyongesa, and Ronald Arani Kirera, were captured in separate operations in Lavington and Runda.

The Australian man and his Ugandan wife were enticed into the country for a gold business transaction, orchestrated by Felix Ochieng Nyongesa, who posed as the seller.

Upon their arrival at a prearranged meeting place, the couple was forcibly taken to an office building in Runda, where they were subjected to violence and robbery by more than 10 assailants.

The criminals made away with $60,000 in cash and valuable jewelry, leaving the victims injured and traumatized. The suspects were found in possession of incriminating evidence at their Runda office, and further investigations are ongoing.

The DCI warns of a rise in gold scams and similar frauds, but they are actively pursuing these criminals. Justice will prevail.

TWO MEN charged with gang-raping woman they found stranded in Nairobi CBD

Vincent Nyongesa and Emmanuel Wanjala were charged in Makadara court for gang raping a girl at a store along Mfangano Lane, Nairobi on October 24.

The two worked as mkokoteni pushers in the area.

The girl had travelled from Bomet to visit her friend in Utawala, Nairobi and arrived at 3pm. However she ran out money and didn't have the Sh 100 busfare to Utawala.

She asked strangers for help before being approached by the two who offered to give her the bus fare,

Vincent took the lady to a hotel with his phone watching TikTok and Facebook story promising her that he was going to look for the fare but later returned without anything and claimed he was not paid.

Nyongeza bought the lady Githeri and convinced her he could provide a place for her to sleep since it was late and he was not paid that day. For sure he had a mattress and he prepared it and the lady enjoyed sleeping on the floor until later in the night when his friend Wanjala came and found the room had a visitor.

They raped the lady in turn when covering her mouth, but the girl shouted for help, watchmen from nearby building helped her and arrested the two, used condoms were recovered at the scene.
