I was also under the impression that the logistical nightmare of imprisoning someone with a mandatory secret service detail would be enough to deter the deep state, but now I’m not so sure.

They raided his home. They threw out hundreds of years of precedent by charging him with non-crimes. What makes me think a secret service detail would stop them from jailing him? We live in a banana republic.
