Auction strategy :
Mumbai Indians will go in the auction with a clear plan to target good foreign pace bowlers who are in their budget. They might not be able to buy top buys as they don't have the budget but they can definitely target few Bowler who can come in the range of 6-7 crores. They will also try to buy an Indian bowler, but this will be difficult as there are not much options. With Hardik Pandya in and Jasprit Bumrah back they have a good Indian lineup and Akash Madhwal showed good performance last yet but still another good pacer as backup will solve a lot of problems.

Firepower in Batting :
Mumbai Indians have some serious hard hitters like Tim David and Surya Kumar Yadav. Rohit Sharma is also in sublime form currently and they way he batted in CWC he can be a game changer for MI.
Indian core :
Mumbai Indians probably has the best Indian core in the IPL with Rohit, Ishan, Tilak, SKY, Hardik and Bumrah in the team. That's the best Indian quality players you'll see. This settles the side and gives them an edge over other teams.
Basis to be covered :
Spin bowling
Mumbai Indians issue will be spin bowling. Piyush Chawla shined last season, but you cannot garuntee that he'll show the same performance this year as well. There are hardly any spin options available to solving the spin bowling question will be difficult for Mumbai.
Fast bowlers
Mumbai Indians will get Jasprit Bumrah back, but now as they have released most of their foreign fast bowlers the only option remains is Jason Behrendorff. So they will need a good partner for Jasprit Bumrah in the playing XI. Someone who can play the role what Trent Boult did till 2021 for Mumbai.

'Gerald Coetzee' is a proper Mumbai Indians player' was said by Ravichandran Ashwin. He can fit in. Mumbai's team perfectly. The only big worry will be he might go for a big price tag and getting him will be difficult for MI.
2) Dilshan Madhushanka
One player which is off the radar currently is Dilshan Madhushanka. Mostly teams are talking about Coetzee, Starc and Cummins. But Mandhushanka was one of the highest wickettakers in the World Cup and can definitely be a good pacer on Indian conditions.
3) Kartik Tyagi
One player a team like Mumbai wishes to buy is Kartik Tyagi. He'll be the hottest Indian pick this year so might be difficult for Mumbai Indians to get him but if they make a clear plan to target only Karthik they might have a chance.
4) Mujeeb Ur Rahman
Mujeeb can be a good option for Mumbai Indians as they have good number of Indian players at the top and can play a quality foreign spinner. Mujeeb can take important wickets for them.
