The Czech President Petr Pavel personally met with a Ukrainian girl of war who was bullied by her classmates during a school trip. She was insulted by her origin and spat on, accompanied by statements about "bad Ukraine" and "good russia". This is absolutely unacceptable, especially in the EU!
"I condemn bullying, humiliation and violence in schools. And in the case of a child who was forced to leave his country and friends because of the war and to whom we offered asylum, it is especially shameful. I appreciate the reaction of the school and parents, and the fact that they apologised to her. But the scars will remain," the Czech President said.
I sincerely thank Mr President Petr Pavel for his quick response, humanity, support and protection of Ukrainian children of war who have found temporary shelter in the Czech Republic!
