Mykola Mayorchak was a historian and archaeologist. He was killed on 2 June near Bakhmut, the defender's colleagues tell Local History.

The soldier took part in archaeological expeditions, studied ancient history, the history of early Christianity, and the Lipizzan culture.

For the Local History research project, he recorded eyewitness accounts of the liberation struggle in Ukraine.

He worked as a senior researcher at the Lviv Historical Museum. He was a participant in the Revolution of Dignity.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of russia, he stood up to defend Ukraine from the occupiers. Initially, he served in the military in one of the terrorist defence departments. Later, he performed combat missions in the ranks of the 10th separate mountain assault brigade "Edelweiss".
