My name is Abhishek Likhar (ex. CGST Inspector and now ASO in Railways ). My niece is suffering from a rare disease called Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) Type-1, which is the most severe type of SMA.
Due to this disease, she can't move her body/limbs and also have problem in breathing. Over time her muscles will become even weaker.
According to the doctors, if she doesn't get the required treatment in time, she will not survive until her 2nd birthday. She is merely 2 months old.
There is only one treatment for this disease which is Zolgensma. The cost of the single dose of this injection is around ₹14 to ₹16 crore which is exorbitantly high.
