RED VELVET ( Hangul: 레드벨벳 ) is a South Korean girl group formed by SM Entertainment in 2014 and consists of five members. they started their career on august 1, 2014 by releasing the digital single "Happiness" with the initial formation of 4 members, namely: Irene, Seulgi, Wendy, and Joy. in march 2015, RED VELVET had one new member, Yeri. The name red velvet has a combination of meanings, where red represents a vibrant and passionate color, and velvet represents a feminine and gentle image. this duality is reflected in their music and concepts.
