The reason:

The tongue is an important muscle that provides many details to the doctor.
It is innervated by the hypoglossal nerve (the twelfth cranial nerve).

A small stroke in the brainstem can cause paralysis of half of the tongue; when the tongue is taken out of the mouth, the tongue deviates towards the weak paralyzed side.

There are diseases that cause weakness of the tongue muscle, which we call motor neuron diseases MND, where the doctor asks you to push the inside of the cheek with your tongue. He also looks closely at your tongue for muscle jerks (we call them fasciculations) or slow tongue movement as in patients with Parkinson's disease.

لقد أثبت العلماء أخيرا انه يمكن علاج لدغة العقرب بواسطة الثلج، أذا استعمل في نفس اللحظة التي يصل فيها سم العقرب إلى جسم الإنسان.
